At our going away party the room was full of friends, children playing, laughter, and encouragement. A friend caught me during the evening and said something like this: “Look around man, this is the legacy that you are leaving behind you. You will always have a home in New Orleans.” I loved to see the connections! Some people knew each and others hadn’t met even though they had so many connections and mutual friends. There were people from different neighborhoods, backgrounds, and ministries we had been connected to.
It reminded me of the LEGACY value that we held for ELEMENTNOLA.
We understand that we are temporary as individuals, as a community, as an organization, and as a generation. This compels us to be good stewards of the time God has given us by
- remaining Kingdom Minded
- intentionally pouring into our children/youth
- focused on discipling leaders who will replace us and carry the baton when our time on Earth is done.
Thanks to all of you who have allowed us into you lives and families. We can’t describe how much we love the city and the people who embraced us here and made it home to us. We are so grateful to have been a part of God’s story here in New Orleans and, as we step into our life and ministry as a family, I pray that we would continue to leave a legacy behind us. I hope that, in our wake, we leave ripples of love, inter-connectedness, and a Kingdom footprint that lasts throughout the generations.
